Since its launch in 2015, over 170 students have enrolled on to our obesity and weight management diploma. Directed by experts in the field, our tutors have a wealth of knowledge in their industry – providing students with clinical situations that are based on real-life experience.

With no international surcharge and interest-free payment plans, we are making education accessible to everyone. This postgraduate course has also been accredited by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). The diploma in Obesity and weight management aims to:

• Produce graduates who can articulate professional decisions, incorporating an evidence-based rationale, in a variety of diverse and complex situations.
• Extend the scope of practice by exploring obesity and weight management in more depth, utilising knowledge gained in the previous modules.
• Produce graduates with an in-depth and contemporary knowledge of the science of obesity and weight management, who are equipped to work and lead in the delivery and advancement of related care, and who can advocate for policies and practice that are free of weight bias and have the potential for stigmatisation.
• Produce graduates who demonstrate an awareness of the complex nature of obesity and have the ability to work in multi-agency, multi-cultural and/or international contexts where they use language that is respectful, non-judgemental and non-biased.

The program has following 6 modules of 6 weeks each.

Adipose Tissue and Energy Balance
Obesity Epidemiology and Population Health
Obesity in Relation to Disease, Genetics and Environmental Factor
Personalized Weight Management: Nutrition, Activity and Behavioral Interventions
Personalized Weight Management: Medical Treatment and Emerging Therapies
Personalized Weight Management: Surgical Interventions

The study is practice oriented where all modules study is conducted through case discussions.

HOW TO REGISTER

To register, please be ready with following documents. These are critical in application process. Submit these documents to get eligibility confirmation & unconditional offer from the university.
Updated CV with all education details, professional experience mentioned in chronological order, Learning opportunities and Teaching assignments if any, conferences attended, papers presented or chapters written, if any and 2 good professional references, English Proficiency score (IELTS).
IELTS score is mandatory. If you do not have the score and you intend to appear for the examination, you can inform the counsellor accordingly. The university can verify all other documents and give the students a conditional offer. After submission of IELTS score , that meets the university requirement , the student will be given unconditional offer.
On receiving the unconditional offer the student is expected to pay the deposit. The student has a choice to pay full fees and apply for a discount or pay the fee in 6 installments. The first installment is at the time of admission, subsequent installments are paid alternate month after the course start month.

FAQs

1. Is the Diploma / Masters degree recognized?

The Diploma / Masters degree is recognized in UK. It is not a registrable qualification in India.

2. Is the online program as good as on-campus?

The programs are very good & definitely as good as on campus. Many of these programs are not offered on campus and the Diploma / Degree certificate does not mention that it is an online program.

3. How effective is the learning model & How is the course conducted?

The Learning Model is highly practice oriented, the entire learning is through case studies. The student works independently and within the cohort on the assigned cases. It is a great self-initiated learning experience, which is useful to practicing doctors.

4. What are the benefits of this program?

This is program gives the student all benefits of on campus & international learning exposure. As the program is offered in online learning mode, the cost of travel and stay is saved and you are learning while earning. It is also important to note that it is expected that the knowledge gained from the program is used by the student in their practice, while in the program.

The interaction with international faculty and access to university library makes the learning world class.

5. Can I get some discounts?

University typically offers some discount schemes, typically early bird, from time to time. The student must register within the stipulated time and avail the discounts offered. However, it is not mandatory to get discount for every batch. The student must check the available active discount offers.

6. What is the application process?

The student must register and complete the application process, submitting required documents, proofs, references as defined in the application process.

On receiving the approval to the application, student must pay the applicable fee and register.

The student can avail installment payment option or full payment. If discount is approved, It is adjusted in the last installment ( if the fee is payment in installment option is chosen).

7. Is English Proficiency mandatory?

Yes. It is mandatory to show English Proficiency. Typically it is IELTS score above 6.0 overall.

8. Do I need to travel to UK?

The student is not expected to travel to UK for any purpose.

9. What is the eligibility Criteria?

Applicants will typically hold a first degree or equivalent (including international qualifications) in a relevant professional healthcare field, such as a medical or nursing degree.

10. Does this qualification enables me to practice in UK or any other European countries?

These are additional qualifications. For medical practice in any country, the professional needs to have a license to practice. These programs do not give the license to practice. However, those with a valid license to practice will benefit from these qualifications.
