SYLLABUS

There totally 44 lectures divided in following modules. Each lecture is of about maximum 30 mins, like a classroom lecture. The course lectures are delivered through the online learning and assessment platform, our Learning Management system (LMS)

This module covers Introduction, Definition, History and Epidemiology of Diabetes, methods of Diagnosis, Strategies for management. understanding the Glycemia and monitoring the control. The module also covers the diet modification, Behavioural Aspects and other aspects like prevention as well as role of Yoga and exercise.

This module goes deeper into treatment and covers use of Metformin, Sulfonylurea and Meglitinides, Pioglitazone and Alpha Glucosidase Inhibitors and Bromocriptine. Management of Obesity & Post Prandial Hyperglycemia are explained. The consultant needs to focus on Insulin Treatment in Clinical Practice and Monitoring of Blood glucose and needs to explain Self-Monitoring, Preventing Diabetic Ulcer and Diabetic Foot to the patient. The up-to-date knowledge is essential of Intensive Glycemic Control: Lessons from recent trials

This module covers further advances in treatment of Diabetes by covering Incretin based therapy in Management of Diabetes, Intensification of Insulin Therapy (Including Analogues) and Management of Type 1 Diabetes and Insulin Pumps. Hypoglycemia in Diabetic patient and Management of Hypertension in Diabetes are some frequent occurrences to be managed in advance care. Knowledge of Dyslipidemia and Diabetic Dyslipidemia, how to manage Diabetes in Pregnancy, Vitamin D Deficiency as well as Testosterone Deficiency and Type 2 Diabetes makes the understanding of advance therapy complete.

Diabetes is a lifelong problem and is silent cause of many complications. The complications covered in the course are Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), Infections, Nephropathy, PCOD, Retinopathy, Coronary Artery Disease in Diabetes, Novel Cardiovascular Risk Markers, Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, Diabetic Autonomic Neuropathy and Sexual Problems in Diabetic Patients and lastly the Diabetic Foot.

Dr. Anuradha Kapoor is a MBBS and MD, have done Fellowship in Diabetes from Apollo Hospital and practices as Consultant Diabetologist with a super specialty hospital. She has been practicing for last 16 years.

LEARNING MODEL

The online certificate program in Diabetes Management is developed for all those who are MBBS graduates and above. The program through Evidence based learning approach guides the practicing medical graduates. The course is offered by distance learning method where by the student will log-in on the Learning Management System and study the subject through the video lectures. The course offers full flexibility allowing the student to study the lectures any time, any number of times. As this is an eLearning course, the assessments are done through MCQ based online tests.

The course lectures are delivered through the online learning and assessment platform, our Learning Management system (LMS)

The course duration is 12 weeks. There are 4 modules. On completion of every module, the student has to give a short module end test. All assessments are MCQ based examination. After all module study and assessments are complete, the student gives a final MCQ based examination. On successful completion of final examination, a certificate of completion will be issued. The course certificate is not a registrable qualification.

The student gets a chance to reappear for the examination once if the first attempt is unsuccessful.

DURATION & TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The course duration is 12 weeks from the start date of the course. However, in case the student is unable to complete the study and final examination in stipulated time, on request the student is given maximum additional 12 weeks to complete the course. In case the student wants to continue the study further to complete the course beyond 24 weeks, the student will need to pay applicable administrative fees and continue and finish the course in further time allocated for completion.

Student once registered can not withdraw from the course and will not be given refund of fees , once paid.
The student is given eligibility based on the medical council registration details submitted by him/her. In case the details are false, the student cannot be given course certificate and will not be given any refund of fees.

All Allopathy practitioners, registered with National Medical Commission, India are eligible.  All those who are registered with NMC, need to submit their Medical Council Name and Number for eligibility confirmation.

Foreign Nationals need to submit their license to practice for eligibility confirmation.

I have completed the certificate course in Diabetes management recently.

It was an excellent experience to learn through Quexst healthcare.
